While fishing in the springtime, you can also enjoy the sunshine and the fresh air with the whole family. You may even be rewarded with a big catch, but at the very least you will have enjoyable moments in clean, fresh Lapland air.

There’s still time for some ice fishing
As the lakes in Lapland are frozen through to April, spring is an excellent time to go fishing. As ice fishing is a so-called Everyman’s Right, you can go fishing anywhere you like without having to purchase a permit.

The equipment you need for ice fishing is rod and tackle, bait and a container to store the catch. Earthworms or various maggots may be used as bait.
