Pyhä-Luosto National Park

Pyhä-Luosto National Park, the gem of Eastern Lapland, is an interesting destination due to its geology and ruggedly beautiful landscape. The park is an excellent skiing destination in the winter, and a perfect place for day trips in the summer. The Pyhätunturi and Luosto resorts in the vicinity of the national park provide a variety of services for visitors.

The core of the Pyhä-Luosto National Park is formed of the southernmost fell chain in Finland. The fell chain is a collage of treeless peaks and deep ravines. The forests are lush in the ravines and on the stream banks; there are even herb-rich forests in places.

Pyhätunturi visitor center
introduces you to the nature of the Pyhä-Luosto National Park and the variety of hiking opportunities in the area. The centre’s permanent exhibition, “Down by the Sea”, tells the history of the Pyhä-Luosto fell area and describes the area’s natural and geological features.
