Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park in Western Lapland is the most popular national park in Lapland. It is the third largest national park in Finland and is visited more than 300,000 times each year. Nearby are the large resorts of Ylläs, Levi and Olos.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is the birthplace of traditional hiking in Finnish Lapland; Hetta-Pallas, the area’s first hiking route, was marked out as early as 1934. Even today, you can go on longer hikes or opt for a day trail – the selection caters for all levels of fitness. In the wintertime, there are 500 km of cross-country skiing trails in the Pallas-Yllästunturi area, most of which are mechanically maintained.
