Oulanka National Park

Oulanka National Park, located in the Koillismaa uplands near the national border in north-eastern Finland, is an ideal destination for hikers and canoeists alike. The Karhunkierros Trail, a popular hiking trail, goes through the park, and the River Oulankajoki offers a variety of opportunities for water enthusiasts.

Even a short visit to the park, perhaps a hike from the Visitor Centre to the Kiutaköngäs Rapids, gives you a glimpse of the diversity of nature in the park. Well-marked hiking trails make it possible to go on longer hikes as well. In the winter, you should have snowshoes or skis appropriate for skiing off trail if you wish to explore the park.
