METSÄHALLITUS

The vast lands in Lapland are mostly owned by the State and managed by Metsähallitus, whose tasks include the management of protected areas and provision of hiking services on State land. Metsähallitus also provides nature-related services for the forest industry, tourism and individual visitors.

Metsähallitus manages the most valuable natural attractions in Finland and looks after them in a responsible manner. The aim is to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and engage in nature-related activities. The goal is thus the well-being of nature and the people enjoying it!
